Health Information Management Case Studies , Third Edition, is a collection of case studies, discussion questions, and assignments designed to give students practice applying their health information management (HIM) knowledge. This text includes a chapter for each of the six domains in the 2018 American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) HIM curricula competencies and a seventh chapter with expanded case studies that span multiple domains. With cases that meet or exceed the Bloom’s taxonomy level assigned for each competency, this book is appropriate for students of all levels. Each case is labeled with the degree and Bloom’s taxonomy levels it meets to help instructors easily identify the appropriate exercises for their courses. It is an ideal complement for AHIMA’s Health Information Management and Health Information Management Technology textbooks and is perfect for use throughout a degree program.

Health information management (HIM) students and professionals must learn everything they can about the basics of electronic health records (EHRs), general healthcare computer systems, data retrieval, and other EHR system topics. Introduction to Information Systems for Health Information Technology helps readers understand how these systems and issues affect, and are affected by, the HIM profession. Updated to reflect current information technology content in the healthcare environment, this fifth edition explains the growing wealth of health data and information available to HIM practitioners and what it can do for patients and society, while also explaining the responsibility to secure these assets. This edition emphasizes professional applications of HIM knowledge, offering revised real-world scenarios and practice opportunities. Key Features • New!
